Two appear in court on Alexander McLennan murder charge

Two Dundee men accused of murdering Alexander McLennan at Kingsway East on Saturday afternoon appeared from custody at the city’s sheriff court on Tuesday.
Ross James Ramsay (29), of Westhall Court, and John Paul Cassidy (31), of Aboyne Avenue, appeared in private before Sheriff Duff on a petition alleging murder.
Neither made any plea or declaration and both were remanded in custody while the case was continued for further examination.
A third man also 31 was detained by police on Tuesday morning and was expected to appear before a sheriff at the court today.
Mr McLennan, of Longtown Place, died as a result of injuries he sustained in the incident, which happened at 2.45pm on the verge of the eastbound carriageway between the Cutty Sark pub and the junction with Westhall Court.
Tayside Police have issued appeals for witnesses.
