A man armed with a knife stole a three-figure sum of cash from the Co-operative store in West Mains Avenue, around 9.25pm on Sunday January 22. With his face covered by a black scarf and blade in hand, he handed an empty bag to an employee and demanded it be filled with £10 and £20 notes. Police questioned shoppers at the store the following day and now feel they have information that may lead to an arrest. Superintendent Jim Leslie said: ”However, we would still appeal to anybody with information on this incident to contact the police.” Anyone with information should phone Tayside Police on 0300 111 222 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
