Two dogs and a cockatiel have ben plucked to safety from a burning Dundee house.
Neighbours reported smoke billowing from the ground floor window of the house in Glenconnor Drive, Linlathen, sparking fears that the homeowners were trapped inside.
Fire crews established the house was empty and broke down the door of the semi-detached house and traced the fire to a tumble drier in a bedroom.
The pets were found in the house and quickly taken from the property as fire crews extinguished the blaze.
Next-door neighbour Kelly O’Shea (42) said she was scared Tuesday’s fire would spread to her home.
She said: ”It’s a wooden house and when you see so many fire engines, you just think it’s going to be a big blaze. We smelled the smoke and the kids heard the sirens.”
