Peterborough United emerge as favourites to sign Danny Swanson

Danny Swanson is odds-on to join Peterborough United after their manager confirmed he will be holding talks with the midfielder.

Swanson has fallen out of contract at Dundee United and has publicly expressed a desire to continue his career in England.

Now he seems certain to get his wish with the club that finished 18th in the Championship last season.

Posh gaffer Darren Ferguson, son of Sir Alex, has confirmed Swanson is on his way to London Road for a chat.

Ferguson said: ”Danny is coming down for talks and I’m looking forward to meeting him. He is an exciting talent and we certainly have an interest in him.

”The boy is a very good player. He has had injury problems but that doesn’t concern me too much as he would cost us nothing and we would only sign him subject to him passing a medical.”
