A dog walker who spent seven hours trapped in a ravine escaped uninjured despite falling around 60ft.
The 58-year-old slipped in wet, muddy conditions as she chased her dog which had run off ahead of her on Wednesday.
She fell down a ravine in Cambo, near Kingsbarns in Fife, at about 3pm, and landed on a ledge about 60ft down.
Forth Coastguard said they were called to assist police after the woman was reported missing.
She was found at about 10pm and lifted out by St Andrews and Leven rope rescue coastguard teams.
A coastguard spokesman said her pet was a former guide dog which had been trained not to bark, so was “no help” in attracting attention to his stranded owner, but he stayed with her until she was rescued.
The woman was not hurt, but an ambulance took her to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee to be checked over.
