A sign warning drivers of a low bridge has been left dangling in the road after being hit by a high vehicle.
The incident has left the sign indicating the bridge is 9ft high hanging from an electrical wire in the middle of St Vincent Street, in Broughty Ferry.
Police have closed the road for a number of hours although traffic has not been badly affected.
One eyewitness said: “The headroom sign above the bridge is swinging about. It is hanging suspended a couple of foot off the ground.
“It would have been very nasty if it had fallen on someone’s car. Police have closed off St Vincent Street between the Monifieth Road and Brook Street.
“Pedestrians can still go through as there is a railing on the walk way but the traffic can’t go through.”
