Cycling programme aims to get Fifers back in the saddle
ByGraham Gibson
A six-month programme of cycle rides is getting into gear this Saturday to help riders get back in the saddle.
The programme, led by Cyclestart, will look to build on the success of last year’s activities. The rides are designed for beginner cyclists or those who have been away from the saddle for some time.
Led by experienced ride leaders, they will follow many of the traffic-free routes in and around Fife. The rides start with short routes lasting about an hour and they progress at the riders’ pace.
The emphasis is on fun and the rides are open to everyone, although children have to be accompanied by a parent and be able to cycle comfortably.
Project coordinator Marta Ramage said: “Cyclestart has been running since 2011 and has been successful at getting people back out and about on their bikes.”
