A Cupar man who bit a man’s ear so viciously during a bar brawl that the victim had to have reconstructive surgery had his sentence deferred at Cupar Sheriff Court.
Kevin Kibble, 34, of Tarvit Terrace in Springfield, admitted carrying out the attack at the Walker Tavern, The Cross, Cupar, on March 3 2013.
The court heard the victim was left permanently and severely disfigured with scarring to his ear.
Defence agent Douglas Williams said: “The complainer had to have invasive surgery whereby a graft of cartilage was implanted into his ear.”
He said Kibble had “a bad record since adolescence” but had recently found a stable job as a steel erector and welder.
Sheriff Brian Cameron deferred sentence until May 15 for the preparation of a criminal justice assessment.
