Tribute paid ahead of a celebration of Dundee United legend Frank Kopel’s life

Dundee United fans paid tribute to Frank Kopel on Saturday, displaying a special banner during the McDiarmid Park clash.
The former United player lost his six-year battle with dementia aged 65 on Wednesday.
A private committal will be held this Wednesday at Parkgrove Crematorium, Friockheim, followed by a service of celebration at Old Parish Church, Kirriemuir.
Frank’s wife Amanda said: “The day of the week, Wednesday. Frankie and I were married on a Wednesday. Our son Scott was born on a Wednesday. Frankie went home to heaven on a Wednesday. We will celebrate Frankie’s life next Wednesday.”
