The theft took place at Craichie by Forfar between March 29 and April 20. Three queen bees and approximately 45,000 working bees along with three honeycomb frames were taken. Officers say whoever has moved the bees would have to have specialist knowledge of handling the them. Police are urging anyone with any information that may be useful to contact Tayside Division on 101, or speak to any officer. Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
