The accident, which happened around 8.25am, was described by police as a shunt involving four vehicles. One woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment. Long tailbacks developed on the approaches to the bridge in Fife, causing delays for hundreds of drivers. The northbound lanes were reopened at around 9.35am. Southbound traffic was not affected.
