Perth police out in force following Leonard Street incident

There was a heavy police presence in Perth’s Leonard Street on Saturday evening following reports a woman had been pushed down a set of stairs.

Ambulance crews requested the presence of officers after being called to the scene shortly before 6pm.

Once there, they carried out a canvas of neighbouring businesses and homes before establishing that suggestions of foul play were unfounded.

A Police Scotland said suggestions that the woman had been pushed had proved to be “a misunderstanding” and that she had simply stumbled and fallen down stairs.
