Pedestrians and drivers who use a busy Broughty Ferry street will see a new light controlled crossing introduced later this year.
Dundee City Council is to install a crossing between West End Garage and Pizza Hut on Queen Street after traffic and pedestrian movement surveys showed the need for it.
Will Dawson, convener of Dundee City Council’s city development committee, said: “Having looked very carefully at the volume of traffic and the number of people who use Queen Street in that area, at all times during the day, we felt that the need for a crossing was justified.”
It is expected that the crossing will be installed in October.
