First glimpse of £3 million Montrose Playhouse interior

Angus residents have been given a first glimpse of how the interior of a £3 million cinema could look.
The Montrose Playhouse Project will see a former swimming pool in the town become an independent cinema, following approval by Angus Council this year.
Group member David Paton said a business plan is ready and provided a first look at plans for the new Reel Cafe and Bar.
He said: “We have our business plan in hand now from (consultant) Ron Inglis, which will allow us to progress to stage two of the community asset transfer of the building from the council.
“We are hoping to prepare a brochure soon which we can pass around to the public and potential funders or sponsors, that will tell everyone how the building will function, look, be profitable, attract not only locals but tourists, and, ultimately, become one of the most important facilities in the area.
“We cannot emphasise enough how important the public support is and it’s amazing to see so many people behind us already.”
