A man involved in a road collision near the Royal Tay Yacht Club has been charged with driving his high-powered Audi TT sports car while unfit through drink or drugs.
In addition, Ross James Ramsay, 32, of Ballumbie Gardens, Dundee, is accused of four charges of possessing heroin and diazepam and also of possessing an air rifle without a licence.
Ramsay appeared in private on Tuesday before Sheriff Charles McNair at Dundee Sheriff Court on a petition alleging those offences, plus one of dangerous driving on Monday at West Queen Street and Dundee Road, Broughty Ferry, swerving back and forth across the carriageway, crossing the line markings on to the opposite carriageway and into the path of oncoming vehicles, causing them to take evasive action to prevent a collision and swerving violently into a parked and unattended Ford Puma, causing extensive damage to both vehicles.
He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody while the case was continued for further examination.
