A businesswoman has slammed “drunken yobs” who she claims overturned her car at the Perth show, causing around £5,000 worth of damage.
Audrey Coates and her husband Harry left their Fiat 500 within the confines of the event on Saturday only to return the following day to discover the vehicle had been overturned and police are now investigating the incident.
Mrs Coates, who runs Belvoir! letting specialists in Perth with her partner, is a former secretary of the Perth Show, and last night described her disgust upon finding the car had been vandalised.
“We decided to leave the car on Saturday and go out on the town in Perth after the Perth Show,” she said.
“There was secure fencing and security. So were absolutely disgusted to return on Sunday morning to discover that drunken yobs had toppled our car over on to its side, causing around £5,000 worth of damage.
“It’s an absolute disgrace that the security did nothing about it.
“I understand one person even posted a photograph of the overturned car on his Facebook page and that police are looking at this.”
A spokesperson for Police Scotland’s Tayside Division confirmed they are looking into the incident.
The car was damaged between 6pm on Saturday and 11.30am on Sunday and police are appealing for witnesses.
Perth Show officials have declined to comment.
