Dundee family business hit by vandals for second time

A family of florists has been targeted by vandals for the second time.
The Ransford family, who run the Forget Me Not flower shop on Strathmartine Road, were left in shock after seeing two vandals slash the tyres of their company’s delivery van and one of the family cars.
Owner Bruce Ransford, 64, said wife Elizabeth was left terrified after discovering the vandals in the act on Sunday night.
“She was in the house chatting with friends, and all of a sudden heard a loud bang that must have been one of the tyres popping,” Mr Ransford said.
“She then saw two men running off into the night, and she contacted the police.”
Mr Ransford, who had been out with friends at the time of the attack, said he believes the crimes may have been committed in order to keep him from carrying out deliveries for the business.
“This was obviously an attempt to hurt our business by stopping us from getting our deliveries out there,” Mr Ransford said.
“The exact same thing happened to the van and our cars over Christmas and there’s no chance it could possibly be a coincidence.”
Police have confirmed that the incident is under investigation, and that inquiries are ongoing.
