Premiership new boys Dundee will host Raith Rovers in the second round of the League Cup.
The draw at Murrayfield paired Grant Murray’s Championship side with Paul Hartley’s top flight outfit. Rovers knocked the Dark Blues out of the Scottish Cup last season with a 1-0 win at Dens.
Cowdenbeath will visit Falkirk while League One Dunfermline travel to take on St Mirren.
Kilmarnock will welcome Ayr United to Rugby Park for an Ayrshire derby while the winner of the first round tie between Queen’s Park and Rangers will host Inverness Caley Thistle.
Partick Thistle visit Morton while newly-promoted Hamilton welcome Alloa Athletic.
Holders Aberdeen do not enter until the third round, along with Celtic, Motherwell, Dundee United and St Johnstone.
