An Angus man who broke into commercial premises was has been ordered to pay £1,635 compensation.
Daniel Ronald Westwood, 26, of Lamb Terrace, Arbroath, was also placed on a community payback order by Sheriff Pino Di Emidio at Forfar Sheriff Court on Thursday.
Westwood must carry out 160 hours of unpaid work within six months, with a supervision requirement also put in place.
He admitted that on June 4 he broke into the commercial premises owned by Red Lion Caravan Park, Dundee Road, Arbroath, and stole a quantity of cigarettes, alcohol and cash, while on bail.
He further admitted on February 2 obtaining £310 by fraud by using a debit card in Ladbrokes, Keptie Street, Arbroath, which was in the name of Susan Ann McPhail.
Depute fiscal Jim Eodonable said the value of the Red Lion theft was £1,635. With regards the fraud charge, he said it was his mother’s bank card.
He said Westwood had paid back half the money to his mother and would be paying the rest back. A breach of bail charge was also admitted by Westwood.
Sheriff Di Emidio fixed a review hearing on the Red Lion charge for December 4.
The other charges were deferred to that date for Westwood to be of good behaviour.
