A Dundee man was cleared of stabbing two men by a jury after a trial at Dundee Sheriff Court.
Michael Christopher Inglis, 31, a prisoner at HMP Perth, was however found guilty of possession of a knife in a public place, namely Dickson Avenue and Orleans Place.
He was also found guilty of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner during the incident on April 12.
However on two charges of assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement of two men, Inglis was found not guilty and not proven yesterday.
The court heard Inglis had 29 previous convictions, including crimes of dishonesty, breaches of bail, drugs offences and road traffic offences.
Defence solicitor Paul Parker-Smith said the record was mainly for shoplifting.
Inglis was further remanded in custody awaiting sentence, which was deferred for reports to be prepared until August 29.
The trial before Sheriff George Way lasted five days and the sheriff said he would be looking for a “robust alternative” to custody.
