A woman was surrounded by a group of five men in a Perth park, police have revealed.
The 56-year-old was said to be “frightened and distressed” by the men’s intimidating behaviour while she was walking her dog at the South Inch on Wednesday at around 4.30pm.
A police spokesman said: “The woman, who was on her own, sat down at a park bench with her black Labrador dog, near to a pond, when a group of five men surrounded her, placing her in a state of fear and alarm.”
It is understood the woman was distressed but uninjured.
One of the men who is described as being between 18 and 20, of slim build, with short hair or a shaved head and wearing a black bomber-style jacket removed an item of headwear from the woman, causing her significant embarrassment and distress.
The group ran off towards the city centre when a passing dog walker came to the victim’s assistance.
Police are keen to trace this male witness. He is described as being in his mid-to-late twenties, of stocky build, wearing a light blue polo shirt, shorts and boots and was walking a white dog.
The victim was wearing a khaki rain jacket with pink piping and jeans, and her dog had a tartan collar.
