Dundee children’s karate instructor jailed for child abuse and bestiality images

A former Dundee children’s karate and kickboxing teacher who was found with thousands of sickening child abuse and bestiality images has been jailed for two years and four months.

David McAusland shared some of the images, which featured children as young as six, on the internet over 100 times.

The 49-year-old even surfed swingers sites while on bail after admitting the offences despite being banned from using the internet.

Dundee Sheriff Court heard that a total of 2,736 images and 39 videos were found after police raided McAusland’s South Road flat in September last year.

Sheriff Elizabeth Munro told McAusland: “I have thought long and hard and it is very distressing for everyone involved. You are a perfectly decent man in a number of ways but in this case it must be a custodial sentence.”

McAusland was sentenced to two years and four months’ imprisonment with an extended sentence of four years on release and was placed on the sex offenders register for ten years.
