A man wrote an offensive word on his ex-partner’s back after finding her in bed with a friend and later burned the bedsheets in the garden, Dundee Sheriff Court has been told.
Shaun Harris, 32, of Ballindean Terrace, admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner during the incident at their shared home on Saturday.
The court heard how the pair had separated in April but were still living together, and when Harris found out she had taken another man upstairs, he flew into a rage.
Depute fiscal Charmaine Gilmartin told the court that after confronting the man, Harris wrote the offensive word on her then grabbed the sheets off the bed, took them into the garden and set them on fire.
Defence solicitor John Boyle said although the woman felt the nine-year-relationship was over he still had feelings for her and reacted badly to the situation.
Sheriff Charles McNair deferred sentence on Harris for six months, warning him if he was not of good behaviour in the meantime he would be dealt with severely.
