Dundee foodbank hoping to team up with derby football fans

Fans attending the derby on September 21 are being asked to do their bit for the city’s disadvantaged by donating to Dundee Foodbank.
Volunteers will be manning collection points outside both ends of the Main Stand of Dens Park in the lead-up to the match, which kicks off at 12.15.
Dundee Foodbank manager Dave Morris said: “We are encouraging all fans attending the derby to bring food donations a can, a packet, a shopping bag full!
“We are asking fans to donate unopened, in date and non-perishable (long life) food, as we do not have the storage for fresh, chilled or frozen.”
He added: “This is a great opportunity for us to engage with the football clubs in Dundee and provide much needed donations to continue our service to those in need in Dundee.
“We’ve seen other football clubs and foodbank partner in this way elsewhere, and we’re keen to make it a great success here in Dundee.”
