A consultation over a Mearns site that could see hundreds of new homes built has been held. Peterkin Homes and Suller & Clark Planning Consultants are in talks to draw up a masterplan for a site in Inverbervie. The local authority’s development plan allows for up to 200 houses to be built on the proposed site to Bervie’s south-west. Residents were asked to attend a first public engagement event at the Burgh Hall. Karen Clark, of Suller & Clark, said: “We are looking at the overall layout and how the site will work with the town itself. “If something does not work for the town we need to think ‘well what will make it better?’ “I would estimate a formal planning application will be lodged towards the end of the year.” The number of houses built will be decided on when more detailed plans are drawn up. The development would also include a new distributor road between the A92 and Townhead Road.
