The Canadian injured a lower leg blocking the puck in Sunday’s Challenge Cup defeat at Cardiff Devils. Blaze chiefs thought the defenceman had broken his leg. The 31-year-old didn’t reappear in the game and the club’s medical team believe he may have a chance of playing at the Dundee Ice Arena. A Blaze spokesman said: “X-rays showed no break and Rory will now be assessed ahead of Friday’s trip.” Stars coach Jeff Hutchins was disappointed with Saturday’s game and even more aggrieved at Sunday’s overtime defeat at home to Hull. He said: “I believe we can beat this team. Last weekend, we lost it early and we could have been two or three ahead. “They got a flukey goal and we crumbled and we can’t allow that to happen again. “We’re not panicking here after last weekend. We are a new team and it takes time. There is a long season ahead of us.”
