Breathtaking aerial footage has revealed the latest progress on Harris Academy’s new £31 million building.
Eight months after construction work began in earnest at the Perth Road site, the new photographs show the building’s main shell from three separate angles.
The new pictures are from a video taken by Graeme Watt, who was trying out his new remote quadcopter and camera.
Graeme, manager of Dundee’s Seagate Studio, said: “I’ve been selecting places of interest to have a look at. I’ve had a look at the other side of the Harris from Riverside, but that’s the first time I’ve seen the whole expanse of the thing laid out like that.
“I usually go early in the morning or days in the week when there aren’t many people about, just to avoid any awkwardness.”
The new Harris features a courtyard with breathtaking views across the Tay to Fife, but original features of the 1931 building, such as clock tower and the stone entrance portico, are being retained and reused.
Harris pupils were decanted to the Rockwell school site in September last year and demolition of the 1930s classrooms was completed in January.
The project to build a new school is expected to be completed in 2016.
Stonework from the old school has been crushed down and used in the foundations of the Perth Road site for the new building.
The new 15,000 sq m building beingconstructed on the 2.3 hectare site will have classrooms, a kitchen/dining room, hospitality suite, performance space with stage lighting and sound system, sports facilities including a swimming pool and an external plaza off the main entrance.
