Game stores across the country are preparing for special night-time events to mark the latest Grand Theft Auto release.
GAME in Dundee’s Murraygate is one of the shops opening late tonight to cater for people anxious to grab their copies of GTA V for PlayStation 4 and XBox One at midnight.
Although the game was first released over a year ago, the new versions are the first to take full advantage of the next-generation consoles’ advanced capabilites.

Grand Theft Auto may satirise Los Angeles and the American Dream, but its roots, and a host of in-jokes, are distinctly Scottish.

GTA V’s US launch in September last year took in over $1bn in just three days.
The series which has run to 10 standalone games has taken players through the streets of New York, Miami and now LA, yet emerged out of Dundee and is now developed by the Edinburgh-based Rockstar North.
Its creation can be traced back to the 1990s and the DMA Design team of Dundee developers led by Dave Jones and Mike Dailly.
