It doesn’t sound particularly pleasant, but for the good people of Arbroath, going viral is proving to be terrifically exciting.
Thousands are tuning in for the town’s tongue in cheek Band Aid video.
Christmas Number 1 is surely on the cards, while Simon Cowell is understood to be watching on with the greatest of interest (legal disclaimer that’s a lie).

Just ask the whizzes behind the Happy Dundee video (if you know who they are, and you want to. If not perhaps you simply don’t have time I’ll tell you what they would say. Which is that seeing locals go fungal is nothing new).
Well over 100,000 people have watched their musical extravaganza.
Which is terrific.
Meanwhile, Dundee’s very own crooning cabbie wouldn’t be out of place on Broadway (actually he might be. His taxi is the wrong colour).

And this week, it as all about the dancing plumber. When the day job becomes a drain, Mark Topen is more than happy to take the plunge and start busting some moves.
So while the people of Arbroath may indeed be newcomers on the block, they are following in well trodden footsteps.
When it comes to (dubious) talent, Tayside’s got it in spades (not to mention taxis and bathrooms).
