Blow to East Fife as Steven Campbell suffers broken leg
ByNews reporter
East Fife have been rocked by the news that defender Steven Campbell is likely to be out for six to eight weeks after breaking his leg in Saturday’s Scottish Cup defeat to Aberdeen.
The 24-year-old was taken off early on in the 6-0 loss at Pittodrie and on Monday the club broke the bad news to Courier Sport that the player has broken his fibula.
Physio Brian McNeil said, “Fortunately the break was clean so it should be an easy set and a fairly quick repair.
“But it still looks as though he’ll be out for around six to eight weeks, which is disappointing.”
The injury setback is just the latest to hit Campbell, who signed for the Methil club in December 2009 after a spell with Australian side Perth SC.
