Pair remanded in custody for Rosebank Street assault

Two Dundee men have been found guilty after trial by a jury at Dundee Sheriff Court of severely assaulting another man.
Jamie Hendry Murphy (20) and Jimmy Webster (20), prisoners at Polmont, had denied that on June 17 in Rosebank Street, while acting with others, they assaulted Allan Mitchell, c/o Tayside Police, repeatedly kicked and punched him on the head to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
During the trial, Webster admitted breaching the peace by shouting and swearing, challenging others to fight and engaging in a fight.
Sheriff Elizabeth Munro remanded them in custody until November 17 for reports.
