A pensioner was trapped in his car for nearly an hour following an accident in Perthshire at the weekend.
The 83-year-old man was taken to Perth Royal Infirmary after his silver Hyundai left the A85 between Comrie and St Fillans and collided with a tree at about 1pm on Saturday.
A spokesman for Tayside Police said no other vehicle was involved, but the road had to be closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.
Firefighters from Tayside Fire and Rescue used cutting equipment to free the man, who had been trapped in his vehicle for almost an hour.
He was then taken by ambulance to Perth Royal Infirmary for treatment.
