Police investigating reports of suspicious man outside Ballumbie Primary School

Police are investigating reports of a strange man hanging around Ballumbie Primary School in Whitfield.

Parents have been sent a letter from the school to tell them about the inquiry.

Several have posted remarks on Tayside Police’s Facebook site.

The mother of a P1 pupil wrote: ”Head teacher out this morning speaking to us, saying they had to send a letter home while rumours were looked into. CCTV and everything has been looked at in fine detail and found nothing.”

Officers tried to allay parents’ fears, saying: ”Please be assured that Tayside Police is aware of concerns expressed by parents of children at a primary school in Dundee about a suspicious male.

“Local officers are working in conjunction with the school to resolve the matter.”
