A thief who walked out of a Dundee supermarket carrying a TV returned half an hour later for a Freeview box, depute fiscal Laura Bruce told Dundee Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
George James Brady (35), of Pitairlie Road, admitted stealing the TV and box from Asda, Milton of Craigie, on Tuesday.
The fiscal said staff saw him pick up the £132 TV about 8.15pm and walk out with it but were unable to catch up with him.
He was caught when he returned and took the Freeview box.
Solicitor Kevin Hampton said Brady’s heroin habit had spiralled out of control and he now thought jail was the only thing that would help.
Sheriff Tom Hughes sentenced him to six months’ imprisonment.
