Former Thistle Coaches owner David Jackson

David Jackson, former owner of Dundee firm Thistle Coaches, has died. He was 72.

Mr Jackson was born and raised in Dundee and attended Logie School.

After leaving full-time education, he trained as a mechanic and worked as a bus driver.

In 1978 he and his wife Ann set up Thistle Coaches, the company they ran together until they retired in 2008.

Mr Jackson is survived by his wife, Ann.

The couple’s only son, also David, died at the age of 33 after suffering an epileptic fit last year.
