He has been formally identified as 22-year-old Ross Handyside, of McBain Place. Police officers attended the scene, on one of the town’s housing estates, at around 7am. They are keen to trace any witnesses who may have seen Mr Handyside between midnight and 7am on Sunday. At the time, he was wearing jeans and white trainers and is believed to have been carrying a white T-shirt. The police said their were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Handyside’s death. However, inquiries into the circumstances are continuing and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
