John Peters, who was secretary of Earlsferry Thistle Golf Club in Elie, is survived by wife Janet and daughters Lesley and Clare. A keen walker, he was on holiday in Yorkshire with Janet, Clare and Lesley’s dog Bruno. He was walking in the Wycoller Country Park, just over the border into Lancashire, when he took ill and died suddenly. For 36 years he was a sales representative with United Biscuits. He retired seven years ago. Mr Peters played golf several times a week. He was an elder at Leven Parish Church. Mrs Peters is also an elder there.
