The city of Perth turned out in force to debate the big issues that could shape its future in the years to come.
There was standing room only at the AK Bell Library Theatre for The Courier’s “Perth: new city, new challenge” event as residents came together to quiz a panel of high-profile figures.
A series of hard-hitting questions were asked of them, on topics such as the predicted population explosion; the future direction of Perth; attracting investment, boosting retail and creating housing; redeveloping neglected neighbourhoods and Perth Royal Infirmary; Perth City Hall and a Perth University.Live blog: The Courier DebatesA show of hands revealed that the city hall remains as contentious and divisive an issue as ever, with those gathered equally split over its future.
