Crews were called to Fairylea House at Aberbothrie, near Coupar Angus, at around 4.50pm on Tuesday. A baler, used to collect cut crop such as straw into bundles, and a straw bale were reported to be well alight. A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 4.50pm to reports of a baler on fire at Fairlylea House in Aberbothrie. “Two fire engines from Blairgowrie attended. The baler and one straw bale were on fire.” He said crews used two hose reels and muck hawks, a manually-operated rake-type pieces of equipment used to pull items apart, to extinguish the fire. The fire was fully out by 5.10pm and no one was reported as injured.
