Final lengths of tracks laid ahead of Kirriemuir Vintage Railway Exhibition
ByThe Courier Reporter
The last lengths of track are now in place ahead of tomorrow’s Kirriemuir Vintage Railway Exhibition.
Exhibition layouts from throughout the country will be featured, with some of the locomotives and rolling stock now 70, 80 or 90 years old.
Some of the most famous manufacturers in British toy and model railway production will be put through their paces.
Iconic names such as Hornby Dublo, Triang and Exley will bring back memories for young and old alike.
The fifth annual exhibition will include an opportunity to compare quality and the running of two examples of the famous Princess Elizabeth locomotive in O-gauge one made in the late 1930s by Hornby and the other by Bassett-Lowke almost 60 years later.
The doors open at 10am tomorrow in the Guide Halls in the Roods, Kirriemuir.
