A mystery moggy has sparked a quest for her rightful owner after she turned up miles from her Angus home in a Glasgow garden shed.
For the past couple of weeks, the six-year-old kitty has been living a life of royalty in the care of the woman who gained the trust of the nervous stray after she darted from the lady’s outhouse.
However, a microchip has revealed the cat is called Haggis and the hunt has turned to Courier Country after it offered up the vital clue she is originally from Angus.
Office accounts administrator Sharon Donnelly told The Courier: “About three weeks ago my partner went out to the shed after one of its windows was broken and when he opened the door the cat ran out I don’t know who got the bigger fright.
“Eventually, I managed to gain its trust by giving it bits of food and I was eventually able to take her up to the local Cats Protection,” added Sharon.
A microchip scan revealed the meandering moggy’s name, age and the fact she was neutered.
The chip details also disclosed what Sharon hoped would be a crucial mobile phone number but unfortunately, it is no longer in use so the trail to track the owner has now gone cold.
“Obviously, at one point she was well looked after and she’s a brilliant cat with a great nature,” added Sharon.
“She’s made herself quite at home here now but I’d really like to reunite her with her owner if they are missing her. Goodness knows how she ended up 90 miles away.”
One theory is Haggis may have gone wandering after her owners moved south from Angus.
