Brechin snap up former Dundee United striker Robert Thomson

Brechin City have completed the signing of former Dundee United forward Robert Thomson.

The 20-year-old was told by Dunfermline last week that his short-term contract at East End Park would not be renewed and was invited up to Glebe Park by boss Ray McKinnon for a trial.

It had been thought that his move might have gone through before the weekend’s game between the sides but Thomson has now put pen to paper on a deal with the Angus club, who have also signed Thomson’s former Pars team-mate Ryan Ferguson, until the end of the season.

The striker will be available for this weekend’s trip to Rangers.
