ByThe Courier Reporter
Back in the balmy days of early September, Aberdeenshire picked up five points at home against Murrayfield Wanderers and they matched that in the capital on Saturday with a 27-22 win in the only RBS Championship B match to go ahead.
Shire led 12-7 at the break and, with both sides notching 15 points in the second half, the bonus point was secured with tries from Joe Lawson, Iain Redmond, Barney Henderson and Andrew Cook.
Gavin Cunningham converted two and slotted a penalty.
Wanderers earned a losing bonus point with tries from Barry Turnbull, Jesse Nawacalevu and Adam McFarlane with Ciaran Whyte landing the kicks.
Aberdeenshire are now heading for a mid-table finish with two games at Musselburgh and at home to Livingston still to come.
