Montrose v Albion: Gable Endies aiming to get into contention
ByThe Courier Reporter
The next three teams Montrose play are the three teams above them in the League Two table.
So the opportunity is there for Stuart Garden’s men to make March a month to remember and get themselves into promotion contention.
Albion Rovers are first up, when a home win by more than one goal will take the Gable Endies above their opponents, followed by clashes with Berwick Rangers and East Stirling.
Draws are of no great benefit to them at this stage of the season, according to Garden.
“Draws kill you,” he said.
“We’ve had too many of them recently. Last Saturday (at Clyde) was another. We’re at home tomorrow and I want to see us be a bit more attack-minded and work their goalkeeper more.
“This is a chance for us to move up the table. We’ll be right back up there if we can string a few wins together.
“We’ve won two and lost one against Rovers but they’ve all been really tight games, and I’m sure this one will be no different.”
Luke Johnston is still out, while Calum Ferguson picked up a knock in training on Thursday night and is also sidelined.
