Police are investigating after a man was attacked and robbed near Arbroath Abbey.
The incident happened at 7.10pm on Tuesday on Abbey Path.
The thief approached the victim, punched him and stole cash and other property.
The person responsible is described as a white male, over 6ft tall and was wearing a black jacket, dark coloured tracksuit bottoms with red stripes down the legs.
Officers are keen to speak to an elderly male, wearing a flat cap, who was seen walking in the Hamilton Green area at the time.
