The changing conditions on a stretch of road between Perth and Inverness have been captured in an internet video.
More than 400 people have viewed footage which reveals just how quickly road conditions can change on the A9.
The short clip, which was posted by Traffic Scotland, focuses on Drumochter over a 24-hour period using the weather camera stationed along the route.
Compiled from images captured last month, the film shows how motorists experienced four seasons in one day.
Despite starting off bright and clear, the weather soon turns treacherous, with snow storms hitting the area overnight and by morning, low cloud is seen hanging over the road.
The footage also reveals that the A9 is a road that never sleeps, as traffic can be seen heading north and south along the route into the early hours.
People who use the road every day have shared the video online, including Police Scotland and Scottish Gritting.
Police Scotland said on its Twitter page: “Interesting footage via Traffic Scotland which shows changing road conditions on the A9.”
The clip has been inspired by the Life and Death on the A9 documentary shown on BBC last week, which followed the lives of those who live and work along the route between Polmont, near Falkirk and Scrabster, near Thurso.
