Who let it slip? Bananaman movie to hit silver screen in 2015

Forget Batman, Superman and all the Avengers Bananaman, the greatest superhero of them all, is set to crash on to cinema screens next year.
The popular comic book character, who first appeared in Nutty magazine in 1980, is set to follow in the footsteps of superheroes like Iron Man and Spider-Man when his own live-action movie is released in 2015.
Bananaman is the alter-ego of schoolboy Eric Wimp who undergoes an amazing transformation into a superhero when he eats a banana.
The potassium-rich superhero was aided in his fight against crime by a talking crow, called Crow.
Fans of the blue and yellow-costumed crimefighter only learned of plans for the movie after stumbling on to a website, www.bananamanthemovie.com.
Although it does not give anything away, the website features the Twitter hashtag #peelthepower and the dateline 2015.
The movie is being developed by Elstree Studio Productions and has the backing of Dundee-based Beano publishers DC Thomson and Co Ltd.
A DC Thomson spokesperson said: “We can’t wait to share more announcements will follow shortly.”
