At Forfar Sheriff Court Stephanie Orr, 27, of Dundee Road, admitted her part in an incident in Pitreuchie Place, Forfar, last August 31. Orr obstructed and hindered arrest, assaulted a police officer by scratching their back and caused a breach of the peace. In January three co-accused had been sentenced for their part in the melee. An argument broke out after one of Orr’s co-accused had been reported for drink-driving by a neighbour. Trouble started when police asked the group of friends to move aside for a breath test. “The real problem in this case is her ongoing alcohol abuse,” said Sheriff Kevin Veal. Orr was given a 15-month community payback order with supervision and participation in an alcohol rehabilitation programme.
