A Tayside man who butted and spat at a police officer told charge bar staff he was proud of the attack.
Alexander White was given a restriction of liberty order at Forfar Sheriff Court on Thursday.
Depute fiscal Hannah Kennedy said four officers had attended White’s mother’s home in Forfar after reports of a disturbance.
White had pressed his face “right up” against one officer and later spat in the same officer’s face.
On being arrested, White appeared to relax and asked the officer to loosen his cuffs.
However, he then butted the man, causing a cut at the top of his nose.
The 28-year-old admitted assaulting a police officer and causing a breach of the peace on December 10 last year.
White, of the town’s North Street said he did not recall the incident, after which he told officers at the local police station “how proud he was” to have attacked the constable.
Sheriff Kevin Veal imposed an eight-month order, during which White will be confined to his home between the hours of 7pm and 7am.
