Ed Miliband has revealed his love of Scotland being part of the UK started in Fife. The Labour leader’s father, Ralph, was stationed in Inverkeithing when he joined the Royal Navy after fleeing the Nazis in Belgium. Mr Miliband used the story as part of a plea for Scotland to vote no in the referendum. He said: “His ship was HMS Valorous. There were people from all parts of our country on that ship. “People from all walks of life, all backgrounds, who had come together for one purpose. “Where would we be without that great generation that worked together for a common cause: fighting Fascism?”
